The international break brought with it some thrilling matches as teams vied for a spot in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. The tournament, set to be hosted in Germany in June and July of 2024, has seen European national teams battling it out in the qualifiers since March 2023.
Following the conclusion of the December 2022 World Cup in Qatar, all teams were sorted into groups and started their quest to secure a place in the Euro 2024 competition. The top two teams from each of the ten groups at the end of the qualifying phase, which concludes after the next break in November, will automatically qualify for the tournament.
Several teams have already secured their spots, having finished in first or second place in their respective groups. These teams include France, Portugal, Spain, England, Turkey, Austria, Belgium, and Scotland. Germany, as the host country, automatically qualified.
However, there are still teams fighting to solidify their standings before the qualifying round ends. They will have one final chance to secure their places in the tournament. After the last break, the stage groups for Euro 2024 will be organized on December 2nd in Hamburg.
In addition to Germany, twenty other teams can qualify for the tournament early. The final three spots will be decided through a playoff held in March 2024. Twelve teams will battle it out for these coveted positions.
